New Songs, Lifted Spirits

The past two weeks have been lively at MANNA rehearsal. Last week, we introduced a new tune to the group – Willie Nelson’s ‘On the Road Again’, which is a favorite of many. This got everyone excited, and one of our community members even contributed a dance! In the middle of rehearsal, another community member showed up with a kitten in their jacket, and at the end of rehearsal someone sang a beautiful English folk tune for the group.

At this past Tuesday’s rehearsal, Eve was absent (she was at a gig in Maine), and we had Cale present to play keyboard for us. We sang a couple of songs from our last concert – ‘Lean on Me’ and ‘What a Wonderful World’, which we will be singing at our next performance, the Winter Walk. This 2nd annual event on February 11th raises awareness about homelessness in the city of Boston by holding talks, a 2-mile walk, and music performances outside in Copley Square. . . rain or shine . . . in the middle of February. We will be performing one selection before the walk and one after we return back. The Winter Walk is hosted by Boston Healthcare for the Homeless, and more info can be found here: https://www.bhchp.org/events/winter-walk-2018. We would be thrilled for you to join us on the walk!
